Oxford Lifesaving Club

Oxford Lifesaving is a small, friendly club, dedicated to learning lifesaving skills for use in, on and around water. We were founded in 1995 and train twice a week during term time at the Rosenblatt Pool on Iffley Road. The club welcomes members of the local community to join and is open to all levels of experience, including beginners.

On Tuesday evenings we spend an hour out of the pool, practising first aid skills or learning lifesaving theory. After dry-side we get in the pool for an hour to hone our aquatic rescue skills. Then on Thursday nights we focus on speed lifesaving, improving swimming technique and developing stamina in preparation for competitions.

Our training sessions are great preparation for competing in lifesaving competitions, in addition to working towards RLSS National Lifesaving Academy awards. In lifesaving competitions we work in a team to respond to a simulated emergency and compete in speed events such as the rope throw relay and the swim and tow relay.

The Oxford University Lifesaving Club trains in accordance with award schemes/qualifications set down by the Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS). The club also competes in competitions organised by the British Universities Lifesaving Clubs Association (BULSCA).

Wantage Lifesaving Club

Wantage Lifesavers are a lifesaving club who train at Wantage Leisure Centre on Mondays from 1900-2000 and Thursdays from 21:00-22:00. We always welcome new recruits; come along!

We welcome all ages, and all swimming abilities; all we ask is that you can swim 25 metres.  We look forward to seeing you there - don't forget your swimming kit!

Windsor Lifeguard Club

The Club is a 'RLSS UK Affiliated Club' and we share the vision ‘To safeguard lives in, on and near water’. The Club is a voluntary lifeguard club that is run by volunteers for the benefit of its members.

Our members are trained in water safety and lifesaving techniques to various levels. From Rookie courses for children (7-12), National Lifesaving Academy (12+) through to the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) (16+ for the exam), we offer awards for all ages and abilities.

What sets Windsor Lifeguard Club apart from other lifesaving clubs and swimming club is our crucial hands-on experience. As well as pool based training we have our own facilities in Windsor by the River Thames where we continue training in the summer months. The Club has a long established reputation for providing safety cover at many open water events ranging from large scale events such as the Royal Windsor Triathlon down to rowing regattas, corporate days and swimming club river swims. Our members put their vital training into action and use their skills in real life situations to ensure the safety of all event participants.
